Edmar Amaya founder of Edam Law PLLC
At Edam Law, we work tirelessly to ensure our clients get the best representation possible in the United States legal system. Our practice was founded in 2009 and focuses on personal injury, premises liability, and wrongful death.
We zealously advocate for the recovery and resources to which our clients are entitled. Whether the injury was caused by medical malpractice or a defective product, our legal guidance helps victims receive reparations, or obtain their day in court to finally have their story heard. In addition, our knowledge of the law can also be applied to organizations that seek to create safer, more compliant workplaces, thus avoiding potential litigation in the future. Our lawyers are members of the U.S. Federal Courts and the Court of Florida, and our work takes us all throughout the United States. Our team speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese and Swedish and we welcome your call.

FAQ

1)

Do I have a case?

If you or a loved one have been hurt, you are justified in following through with a case to collect compensation. Since it can be difficult to prove fault in some instances, it is important to consult with an attorney first.

2)

How do I get started?

The best way to begin your case is to call our office to set up a consultation at (305)800-4529 or e-mail info@edamlaw.com

3)

What is the difference between a lawyer and a lawyer referral service?

Many lawyer referral services are only partly regulated by the Florida Bar, and accordingly can make advertisements, claims, and statements that don’t pass Bar scrutiny. Lawyers, however, must stay in compliance with Florida Bar statutes.

4)

Can I still file a claim if I was partly at fault in the accident?

If you can demonstrate that the burden of responsibility rests more on the other party than it does due to your own fault, then you can still file a personal injury claim in a Court of Law. Speak with us first.

5)

What is my case worth?

Every personal injury claim is unique, and so circumstances differ on a case by case basis. However, damages can include medical expenses, loss of future income, pain and suffering, emotional distress, and loss of ability to enjoy life following the accident.

6)

What should I NOT do after an accident?

Do not give statements or discuss the accident with the "at-fault" driver or their attorney. Remember: "What you say can and will be used against you!" Instruct them to call your attorney or insurance company directly.

7)

What should I do after an accident?

The most important thing is to get well, see your doctor, and follow your doctor's orders. Besides this, take photos of your injuries, the accident scene, write down a narrative of the event, and make a list of witnesses and their contact information.

8)

What is a personal injury?

A personal injury is a serious harmful act to a person as a result of someone else’s negligence. It's possible that you are entitled to rights and benefits for your pain and suffering.
